REFLECTION
...we are called to see the holy sparks within all created beings...and to bring together the sparks to preserve single moments of radiance and keep them alive in our lives, to defy absurdity and despair and to wait for God to say again: Let there be light. And there will be light.
Rabbi Abraham Heschel
How do we live out “see(ing) the holy sparks within all created beings?” I love and I am challenged by the question. This is part of our invitation to walk the good road. We can see and experience the holy sparks within people who we only encounter for a brief moment in our lives. We can see and experience the holy sparks in people whom we have known for years. We are called to see these sparks in people we deeply love and those we find challenging to be around. In the midst of the messiness of our lives and the world, looking for the spark within all whom we encounter helps us orient ourselves to seeing the sacred everywhere we go.
