Quick Reflection

Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth once observed that live musical performance is a situation in which people pay to watch other people believe in themselves. True enough, and I'll only add that the confidence we pay to see probably has something to do with our desire to be near freedom, real honesty, and the possibility of real community.
